Usually not: the panels overlap and occupy part of the front. The clear width depends on the configuration and is specified in the proposal.
Is it the same as folding glass curtains?
No. Sliding panels move along tracks and overlap. Folding panels slide and pivot to gather at the side. The choice depends on how much you want to open and the space available.
Can it be installed on any terrace or balcony?

Does it insulate against cold and noise?
The glass adds a barrier to the outdoors, but the result depends on the glazing, seals, installation and surroundings. A single-glazed sliding glass curtain is not automatically equivalent to a double-glazed window. If you need more insulation, explore the double-glazed options.
