A bioclimatic pergola has a roof of adjustable aluminium louvres and, once closed, works as a watertight cover. A tensioned fabric pergola is far lighter: its cover is a sheet that filters the sun and retracts when it is not needed. If you need a rigid roof for any weather, look at our bioclimatic pergolas.
Does it keep the rain off?
The sheet is fitted at the pitch needed for water to run off rather than pool on top, so it copes well with light or passing rain. It is not a substitute for a rigid roof: if you want a space that stays covered whatever the weather, another solution suits better.
Can it be retracted when it is not needed?
Yes, that is the whole point of the system. You unfurl the sheet when you want shade and retract it to get the light and the open sky back. That flexibility is the main reason to choose a fabric pergola over a fixed cover.
Can I choose the size and the colour?
